چکیده
Photodynamic therapy is a technique that consists of activating Photosensitizing Agent (PS) to form reactive oxygen species, which are important for antimicrobial action. This research aimed carry out laboratory tests measure singlet oxygenand superoxide radicals release as function different formulations and concentrations methylene blue (MB), eosin Y (EY) fluorescein (FL) dyes, compare their photodynamic efficiency. Solutions containing these compounds in MIX solvent (glycerol, ethanol water) irradiated with low power laser (λ= 660 nm) were analyzed. The production (1O2) was photometrically evaluated through the consumption rate 1-3 diphenylisobenzofuran (DPBF), 1O2 sequestering substance. Statistical analyses applied ANOVA Duncan's complementary test using Package Social Sciences (SPSS) software. MB had greater activity, it presented higher values decrease DPBF three evaluated. mean concentration 89.9% at 150 µM, 87.6% 2.9 15 77.3% 2.5 1.5 µM. EY FL similar results, no significant difference between concentrations. µM expressed 1O2, suggests effect highlights its relevancecompared other dyes.

FRET quenching of photosensitizer singlet oxygen generation.
The development of activatable photodynamic therapy (PDT) has demonstrated a utility for effective photosensitizer quenchers. However, little is known quantitatively about Forster resonance energy transfer (FRET) quenching of photosensitizers, even though these quenchers are versatile and readily available. To characterize FRET deactivation of singlet oxygen generation, we attached various quen...

A molecular dyad that can photosensitize and visualize singlet oxygen ((1)O2) was developed. The dual photofunction enables ratiometric photoluminescence monitoring of the progress of (1)O2-induced cell death.
متن کاملIn vivo PDT dosimetry: singlet oxygen emission and photosensitizer fluorescence
Photodynamic therapy (PDT) is a light activated chemotherapy that is dependent on three parameters: photosensitizer (PS) concentration; oxygen concentration; and light dosage. Due to highly variable treatment response, the development of an accurate dosimeter to optimize PDT treatment outcome is an important requirement for practical applications. Singlet oxygen is an active species in PDT, and...
متن کاملSinglet oxygen production by Peptide-coated quantum dot-photosensitizer conjugates.
Peptide-coated quantum dot-photosensitizer conjugates were developed using novel covalent conjugation strategies on peptides which overcoat quantum dots (QDs). Rose bengal and chlorin e6, photosensitizers (PSs) that generate singlet oxygen in high yield, were covalently attached to phytochelatin-related peptides. The photosensitizer-peptide conjugates were subsequently used to overcoat green- a...
متن کاملX-ray induced singlet oxygen generation by nanoparticle-photosensitizer conjugates for photodynamic therapy: determination of singlet oxygen quantum yield
Singlet oxygen is a primary cytotoxic agent in photodynamic therapy. We show that CeF3 nanoparticles, pure as well as conjugated through electrostatic interaction with the photosensitizer verteporfin, are able to generate singlet oxygen as a result of UV light and 8 keV X-ray irradiation. The X-ray stimulated singlet oxygen quantum yield was determined to be 0.79 ± 0.05 for the conjugate with 3...
